difficult to justify, and it is my contention that the word "procedure" on page 3 of the "Reconstruction Saheze" loaflet must be taken as covering all the conditions of appoint:ent.

4. As I shall be retired in any case under the age limit

with two and a half years less service in this Colony thanis

the normal minimum, I shall have so much the less chance of

obtaining a senior post. This is already a serious price,

in view of the calculation of my pansion, to pay for having spent four and a half years on military se vice. If in addition my petition be not granted, then I shail throughout my service, and not only in the latter days and after retirement, suffer

for this cause.

5. Zy petition is, therefore, that my case be dealt with in the same manner as that adopted by the Government of the Fod- erated lalay States, in dealing with their ex-service Cadets; and that I may have the date of my seniority for purposes of salary determined as is done for the officers of that ervice;

and that all arrears of salary due on this account since my

embarkation be paid to mê,
